Replace the worn and stained carpet in the giant master closet
The finished and restored closet
Moving into the house, first order of business was the master bedroom. But it was apparent that the closet had to be done first.
It was a great closet. You entered through a pair of mirrored sliding doors. But the carpet was stained and we had to rip it out.
Because the carpet went under all the cabinets, they all had to be dismantled and placed in the master bedroom to remove the carpeting and pad.
I took the blades off the ceiling fan because it kept clipping me and the tops of the cabinets. The the floor was scraped to get up the last of the carpet pad.
This is sold under two names depending on the Home Depot you are shopping at. It was originally called ALLURE Grip-strip flooring, or Traffic Master Grip-strip flooring. Because I was buying enough for three rooms I ended up with boxes of both.
I think Allure was the original name, but I could be wrong.

We installed vinyl oak-like flooring. The floor "floats" and is only attached on one edge of the room. Since the temperatures in southern Arizona vary drastically, the floor may expand or contract with temperature changes. the floating flooring will allow the cement floor to slide beneath the vinyl without buckling or pulling apart.
